e-government for Good Governance in Nigeria

Interested in good governance and how technology can be applied and developed to meet this urgent need? Do you believe in the potential and importance of e-government for good governance in Nigeria? If so, then the 2023 Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) IT Professionals Assembly is the perfect opportunity for you to explore this potential and contribute to the development of e-government initiatives in Nigeria.

IT Professionals for Good Governance

The theme for the 2023 Assembly is “e-government for transparency, accountability, and good governance”. Indeed, this Assembly will provide a platform to discuss the potential of e-government systems in Nigeria. It will explore best practices from successful e-government initiatives. The gathering will examine whether IT professionals and public officials have the e-government capacity. Do they have the necessary knowledge, skills, and mindset to implement e-government systems that promote good governance in Nigeria?

We all know that technologies are important, but they are not enough for good governance. Indeed, the cumbersome and bureaucratic nature of several government services is a major challenge to good governance in Nigeria. That’s why we need to explore the potential of e-government systems to ensure good governance. e-government for good governance in Nigeria can improve access to services, reduce bureaucracy and corruption, and provide real-time data for decision-making.

The 2023 CPN IT Professionals Assembly is an excellent opportunity for IT professionals and public officials in Nigeria to come together and discuss the potential of e-government systems to promote good governance in Nigeria. But e-government for good governance in Nigeria is not just about discussing the potential of e-government systems. It’s also about ensuring that Nigeria leverages the expertise, innovation, and professionalism of IT professionals for sustainable development in the age of 4IR, emerging technologies, and disruption.

The Responsibility of CPN

Importantly, this is critical not just for the development of e-government systems, but also for the relevance and sustainability of CPN to IT professionals and organizations, and the public beyond relying solely on its statutory and legal status. Additionally, as the regulatory body for IT professionals in Nigeria, CPN has the responsibility to ensure that IT professionals in Nigeria are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to drive sustainable development in the age of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), emerging technologies, and disruption. Importantly, in the context of 4IR, technology is transforming society at an unprecedented pace, and it is essential that professionals working in this field maintain high ethical standards and professionalism. Technology must be applied and developed in a responsible and sustainable way that benefits individuals and society as a whole.

The 2023 CPN IT Professionals Assembly is an opportunity for CPN to demonstrate its commitment to this responsibility. CPN can facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices. Bringing together IT professionals and public officials is important. This can help to shape the future of e-government for good governance in Nigeria. The 2023 IT Assembly will feature presentations by global technology giants and new innovations. Sessions will however be run in line with the e-government theme on transparency, accountability, and good governance.

IT Agenda for New Government
