User-Friendly but Human-Hostile: The Ethics Gap in Modern Tech
Is your data protected, or is it waiting for a higher bidder?
Being “digital” doesn’t make us caring or responsible. If the system is heartless, why are we looking for a soul? The great danger of smart technology lies in an uncaring society.
Code is easy. Conscience is hard.
Knowledge without ethics is just high-speed ignorance.
“User-friendly” but human-hostile — who are we fooling?
Knowledge is digital. Responsibility is human. The gap between them is where we’re failing. Experts know how to use technology to generate revenue, but not how to improve our humanity.
By prioritizing profit over user well-being, we sacrifice the long-term safety of the many for the short-term greed of the few. Our rush to innovate is faster than our capacity to care.
Laws move at a snail’s pace while technology moves at light speed. Do we even know what goes on inside the “black box” of AI?
Products that last are built on trust. Technology should actively close gaps, not widen them. When will we start building a future where technology protects the vulnerable by default?
As our machines get smarter, our humanity must remain the master
