eNigeria 2010 - Nigerian ICT4D Plan: Implications for Vision 20-2020

1 May-2010  - eNigeria is held annually by the Nigeria Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). eNigeria is used by NITDA to highlight issues and strategies it is using to ensure the effective diffusion and deployment of Information Technology in Nigeria.

eNigeria will be held from May 18 - 20, 2010. Time is 9.00am - 5.00pm Daily. Venue is:Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre, Central Area, Abuja, Nigeria.

According to the release from NITDA, eNigeria "brings together leading researchers and ICT practitioners from all over the world to brainstorm on the latest developments in ICT and how to leverage on these developments for our sustainable socio-economic development."

"The theme of the 2010 edition is "ICT4D Plan and Global eRanking : Implications for vision 20-20-20". It is aimed at examining how Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) could be used to drive Federal Government's Seven Point Agenda towards achieving vision 20-20-20.

The conference will also provide a framework for conscious, concerted and guided effort towards ensuring the upward movement of Nigeria in the global e-readiness ranking."


Starting on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, the conference will be declared open by Nigeria's President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.


eNigeria Objectives are to:

Provide a framework on the application of IT to drive the Federal Government of Nigeria's Seven Point Agenda in order to achieve vision 20 - 2020.

Plug into Global, Regional and National Policies or Initiatives aimed at reducing Poverty and advancing Human Development;


Several resource people and stakeholders involved in the development of Nigeria's ICT4D plan will participate and deliver presentations during eNigeria 2010.
